Today's Thoughts on the Anna Nicole Legal Show

I have to say that I have found the legal wranglings of all the parties involved in Anna Nicole Smith's business since her untimely death, most interesting. Of course out of all this my main concern is for the infant daughter she left behind, and all the possible influences (mostly negative) that she may have to endure during her lifetime.

I found the televised court proceedings interesting not due to a voyueristic pleasure of any kind, but due to watching the incredibly fast-talking lawyers verbally and continually assaulting a judge. The legal issues are complex and difficult. You have to give the lawyers credit for being extremely well-prepared and assertive to each of their respective client's causes.

I also have to say I've had a change of opinion about Larry Birkhead. Of course I have never met him personally, but his face has certainly been seen frequently during this whole media event. I used to think he was as smarmy as Howard K Stern. But after hearing Birkhead's testimony in the courtroom, I believe he was one of the few people actually speaking as honestly as possible from his heart. I may be wrong, but he won me over.

Between his talk of continually trying to wean Anna Nicole off drugs, and the statement about having to buy an entertainment magazine to see his own new baby's face, he sold me. I also saw him as attempting to be a peacemaker among the three camps: his, Stern's and Anna's mom.

So- fault me if you want to - but if public opinion counts for anything. Birkhead seems to me like the lesser evil for the baby of Anna Nicole SMith, DannielLynn, to end up with.
